Does ECM work on WP\'s?
 

Does ECM work on weapon platforms? Am I wasting space by placing ECM on WP's?

I've not noticed any reaction for using either armor or ECM on Weapon platforms.

I've tried repeatedly to test this, and it seems that weapon platforms are just 'destroyed' when their section of the planet is 'hit'.

I find this frustrating, as I'd also like to build medical bays, scanners, and such onto weapon platforms... It'd make them alot more useful if they did protect a certain amount of the surface, and had functions that could be an asset to the planet.

Also, you can't just recycle a single platform... They stack. Kinda annoying when you're dealing with replacing one. Heck, you can't technically recycle one, you're throwing them away. :P

Anyhow, I've got my letter of bugs to send to Malfador :)

I can't do it myself right now (no gaming on this machine http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon9.gif) but if you want to check on ECM and WPs, turn on the option to see the To-Hit % during combat and run some tests in the simulator. You should see a lower To-Hit score when firing at the same range against WPs with ECM.
