NEW -- Space Empire Galaxies
 

This is an official game of the Space Empires Galaxies, a roleplaying community. The game is to be used to develop the roleplay. Roleplay is what is important, not winning the game. As such, completely annihiliating an empire (or reducing it to rubble) is contrary to the roleplay aims, and is generally not a good idea. It will not be considered bad if the game never actually ends, as ending it is not the point. It is an aide to develop roleplays.

The game host will NEVER be a player in the game. He will have no vested interest in any decisions that must come up, and is a neutral party.

<font color=yellow>All players must give their passwords to the game host, who will use them to make sure that all empires comply with the rules, both before the game starts and during play.</font> The host reserves the right to refuse any empire file that does not comply with the rules. The host also reserves the right to kick any players found to be acting contrary to the rules of the game.

Game turns will process once per week, to allow for plenty of time for roleplays.

The game will not be using the PBW forum, as it is limited in features. The forum to be used is located at tescosamoa.com Roleplay Posts must be posted in the appropriate subforum, depending on the nature of the roleplay thread. When any war is declared, a thread must be started about it in the War Roleplays subforum, with both sides participating.

The game will be using the official Ladder Mod, available here. http://www.spaceempires.net/home/mod...=getit&lid=337 The mod is based on Pirates and Nomads mod, but with various alterations.

All races and empires must be unique and original. No sci-fi canon empires, no human empires, etc. Your race/empire can be influenced by such races/empires, but not direct copies of them.

The galaxy represented by this game has no connection to any other galaxies, so all roleplays in this game are not to be connected to roleplays in other Galaxies games or other PBW games. No carrying over grudges. The same empire may be used by a player in different Galaxies PBW games, but they are to be considered as separate entities with no connection to each other.

You may not communicate about in-game details with another player via any external media until you have met them in-game. Once you have met them, you are permitted to communicate via email, IM, telephone, face to face, forums, etc.

No duplicate ship sets will be allowed. All players are required to select their ship set from the list when uploading their empire. If a stock set is to be used, this must be indicated by selecting it from the list.

All players must fill in all RP related elements of their empire, such as Bioligical Description, History, etc. All players are required to post this information in the Character & Empire Profile Development subforum in the game's forum before the game begins.

Surrender is disallowed. Therefore, gifting all of your planets, ships, etc. to another empire, which is an attempt to subvert this rule, is also disallowed.

I've created the first Space Empires: Galaxies PBW game, and it's now open for new players to join.

I want to get the game underway by Oct 1st with at least 15 players, so don't procrastinate as you're going to miss out on this new adventure.

It's not that complex really and that's why there isn't much more details listed. Space Empires: Galaxies is essentially a substantiated role-play. What that really means is that events from an actual PBW game are used as the starting points for role-playing in the forums and stories. This gives it an organized structure that prevents many of the problems that plague other forms of unsubstantiated role-play. The forums serve as a place for players to project their interpretation of game events and to develop personalized storylines and characters that participate in them.

As a player in the game, you're responsible for role-playing your race within and outside of the game and participating in the forum on behalf of your empire. The turnaround times for turns are long and provide ample time for you to develop your storylines and respond to other players. Guidelines for the PBW aspect of Galaxies were added to help keep the focus of the game on developing your role-play and avoiding any sort of controversy that could disrupt the game.

But most of all, the goal of Space Empires: Galaxies is to have fun and employ your imagination and creativity. The more you participate, the more people are going to respond to you and the more successful the experience will be.
