Re: Statue of the Art, slaughtering started
@Deadnature: Have a great trip!
@jimbojones1971: Agreed 100%. :) |
Re: Statue of the Art, slaughtering started
Whew! That was a close one; but thank you very much earaxe, and everyone. It was a good trip and I'm glad we can pick up this exciting game again at full-pace.
thanks everyone for your patience! Let's go monkeys! |
Re: Statue of the Art, slaughtering started
i fortunately (if there are such things like "fortune" and "good") noticed that nathan nearly staled, so i postponed hosting for him.
|
Re: Statue of the Art, slaughtering started
Thank you very much! I had a family event followed by a work event, and I was running very short on time.
I hope you all had a great weekend. Nathan |
Re: Statue of the Art, slaughtering started
I know this is a relaxed and friendly game, but sorry about the stale guys, again.
I'll have to get on my turns faster but we may also want to consider extending the time to 48h. Of course I can still do 24h if everyone prefers a faster game, I just have to be more spot-on with my turns. thanks |
Re: Statue of the Art, slaughtering started
Can I please get a one-off extension of 12 hours?
I'd be happy with moving to 48 hours per turn like DN suggested. |
Re: Statue of the Art, slaughtering started
Hosting postponed by 12 hrs.
It may have been misunderstandable because of the lack of stressing, but I wrote 24 hrs as hosting time. If everyone (including me) prefers longer hosting i'm open to changing it. I'm in only two games and I easily have time for 2 turns a day, altho I also that know people r different. If anyone would like an extension (or uncertain about himself being on time) I gladly postpone. |
Re: Statue of the Art, slaughtering started
I'm also happy with whatever needs to be done to give people enough time. :)
|
Re: Statue of the Art, slaughtering started
I'm fine with moving it to 48 hours
|
Re: Statue of the Art, slaughtering started
48 hours is fine by me if some of us are feeling rushed.
|
Re: Statue of the Art, slaughtering started
True, Earcaraxe, you did say clearly that this would be a 24hr game, and I'm really enjoying the pace and action so far.
So even though I suggested 48hrs, I defer to the host to make the choice. Either way, I'll probably be playing my turns as fast a possible from now on. :) thanks! |
Re: Statue of the Art, slaughtering started
Hopefully we have no stales this turn. If Kailasa misses three in a row, it will have a pretty major impact on the game (probably to my advantage, but not much fun that way). I think we should consider a 12 hour extension, just to try and make sure we can avoid that.
|
Re: Statue of the Art, slaughtering started
thanks for being so perceptive jimbo! i postponed by 12 hrs.

What do we do if Kailasa doesn't come back? Replacement? AI?
|
Re: Statue of the Art, slaughtering started
Gents, (and ladies if applicable), two stales in a row in unnacceptable I know, I am processing my turns right now.
Someone close to me was hospitalized last Friday, she's ok, but I spent most of the weekend (+today) over there worried as hell. But like I said, what could have been a major injury turned out to be relatively minor. Technically I could have gotten to a computer and asked for a delay, but dom3 hasn't crossed my mind for the past several days. But still, that's noones fault here, so sorry you guys were left in the dark. Two stales in a row is pretty harsh, esp on top of my earlier stales, but I've actually got more free time than usual starting this month, so I'm going to dedicate myself to my turns and see what I can pull off. Thanks Deadnature |
Re: Statue of the Art, slaughtering started
Hi Deadnature,
Good to hear that things aren't too serious. I'm glad you are still in the game, you've built a pretty good nation and I'm interested to see what you can do with it :-) Cheers, Jimbo |
Re: Statue of the Art, slaughtering started
i have posted it on my other game's thread already, but i think it worth a ctrl-c ctrl-v here:
"no problem deadnature (on my behalf). I'm glad u r back. I'd like to stress that - contrary to the customs here on this forum - i dont add moral dimension to staling or dropping out of a game. I prefer playing with people who particiate because of the enjoyment. I dont consider playing along an obligation, starting a game doesnt equal an oath of playing thru any circumstances in my mind. my opinion in short: its just a game. I'm aware that in your case it was about something else, but i wanted to use this opportunity to tell that above." |
Re: Statue of the Art, slaughtering started
If you get this in time Earcaraxe, can I please get a four hour extension to the game?
|
Re: Statue of the Art, slaughtering started
i got it just in time :)
4 hrs extension granted. |
Re: Statue of the Art, slaughtering started
Thanks guys...I appreciate the understanding. I just know that I've always hated it when peeps give up on dom3 games so I would hate to do that to others :)
Plus this particular game is quite interesting... |
Re: Statue of the Art, slaughtering started
Alas, it didn't stick with the llamaserver - this seems to happen sometimes I've noticed.
Nevermind, thanks for approving it - next time I must be more prompt! :-) |
Re: Statue of the Art, slaughtering started
are u sure it didnt stick? Before i postponed the resolution time was about 7:00 GMT. My turn arrived at about 15:00 GMT and i live in hungary. So it seems to me that the turn got postponed.
|
Re: Statue of the Art, slaughtering started
Hrmmm, it seems likely I stuffed up at my end? I was sure about it being llamaserver's fault, but looking at the date time stamps for my gmail reminders, it seems I am at fault.
Very sorry for the stale, guys :-( |
Re: Statue of the Art, slaughtering started
And it looks like I staled last turn. I never got a turn file for 48. I've checked my spam filter, trash, etc. I'll have to keep a closer eye, I figured we had just switched to 48 hour turns. My apologies.
|
Re: Statue of the Art, slaughtering started
i have also experienced some strangeness about turns, i neither received turn 48 until i asked for a resend.

|
Re: Statue of the Art, slaughtering started
Lots of stabbing going on - apparently the drums of war are indeed beating!
|
Re: Statue of the Art, slaughtering started
i will ba having a vacation again, i have postponed the turn until monday 21:50 GMT. there is a good chance, i will be able to send mine in before sunday 16:00 GMT, but im not sure.
|
Re: Statue of the Art, slaughtering started
it turned out that 99% i will be back by sunday.
|
Re: Statue of the Art, slaughtering started
I have discovered an amazing gift for losing battles by small margins.
This is, to be fair, progress - it certainly beats getting stomped by a huge margin! :-) |
Re: Statue of the Art, slaughtering started
I agree jimbo :)
I'm back, so turn resolves as soon as everyone sends in his. |
Re: Statue of the Art, slaughtering started
I'm gonna go ahead and say we put Ctis on AI, the guy's got one province left, but it has a fort which could mean a couple more turns of waiting for him to stale.
No offense fickle, if you're still with us. EDIT: Also, am I crazy? or was the hosting delayed? I thought I was cutting it close with my last turn but was surprised to see that suddenly had much more time than I thought... |
Re: Statue of the Art, slaughtering started
thanks deadnature, i have turned ctis AI.
i did postpone it as i have posted it. Speaking of that im going on a short vacation again until thursday evening, so i will increase hosting time. (instead of postponing, so one more turn could be resolved). and about ctis's case: in my opinion its absolutely no problem to turn AI if someone feels/thinks his case is hopeless. Just turn AI and say goodbye, no grudges will be held (on my behalf). |

i'm back, hosting interval has been changed back to 24hrs.
|
Re: Statue of the Art, slaughtering started
Hey earcaraxe, I'm not sure if I missed something, but perhaps you forgot to turn the autohost back on? :)
|
Re: Statue of the Art, slaughtering started
u r right. i wanted to turn it back, but llamaserver was down for the last 12 hrs.
|
Re: Statue of the Art, slaughtering started
i will leave quickhost off for one more day as i'm still on vacation.
|
Re: Statue of the Art, slaughtering started
llamaserver has been healed. ossa, it would cause my joy if u sent ur turn in (not kidding).
|
Re: Statue of the Art, slaughtering started
Can I please get a six hour extension? I might be home a bit (well, a lot) late tonight, so the extra buffer would be most useful.
|
Re: Statue of the Art, slaughtering started
of course. turn extended by 6 hours.
|
Re: Statue of the Art, slaughtering started
Many thanks :-)
Does anyone here know the movie Apocalypse Now? I ask because I feel like my country has degenerated into some sort of twisted Fantasy Vietnam, and I am the North Vietnamese .... |
Re: Statue of the Art, slaughtering started
i have seen it and liked it much.
i wonder which country u live in. :) or u mean ur dominions country? :) |
Re: Statue of the Art, slaughtering started
My Dominions country. Although instead of the jungles, I am hiding in the mountains :-)
|
Re: Statue of the Art, slaughtering started
Hi, can I please get another six hour extension?
Also - curse you Bogus and your goody two-shoes province liberating ways!!! (Shakes fist at the sky in anger) |
Re: Statue of the Art, slaughtering started
postponed by 6 hours.
|
Re: Statue of the Art, slaughtering started
I'm sorry, but I need a 24h extension on this current turn. I'm going to be pretty busy with work over the next day or so but I'll try to submit my turn ASAP.
thanks |
