OT - funny little picture

Hey, I noticed a lot of the regulars now have funny little pictures of themselves by their handles

Howe does one do this?

Indeed, I would like to know as well. A lot of the regulars in the Phong’s Head have been asking me to have a close up of my gnu displayed there.

The etchnical for them is "avatarr", which is a grandiose wy of saying "little picture to show everyone what I look like."

You'll need a gif file 48pixels x 48 pixels in size. This is just big enough for a miniaturised photo of yourself, a resized se4 race_portrait file or something more imaginativeif you like. Put the picture Online somewhere then go to your profile and insert your picture's URL in the appropriate box.

I can't decide whether to use a Version of the picture I already have in my sig, a new self-portrait or a miniaturised space vikings picture. Or something else altogether.

48 pixels does not seem like much, Tesco’s portrait looks to have more resolution in it than that. However, I am obviously an amateur in this, so what do I know?

Is it practical to shrink a photo down, or is that impossible? If not, do I need to go to a paint program and unleash my artistic skills?
