Lost / Firefly crossover?

ACHTUNG! ***SPOILERS FOR LOST AND FIREFLY***

Just catching up with season3 of Lost at the moment, and last night I watched "I do", the one where we see a flashback to Kate's marriage. Turns out her husband is the guy who played Mal Reynolds in Firefly.

I think the people who made Lost slipped a few Firefly references in there.

* "In one scene they are in bed together talking and she says his name, Kevin. However it definitely sounds more like Cap'n than Kevin.

* He's playing a character who marries a woman who is pretending to be someone she's not, even marrying him under a false name. Sound familiar, Firefly fans?

* I think there was another point I had to make here, but I did have a few beer last night. Will re-post when my memory returns.

My wife thought the same as me (She is a big FF fan now. Shame they only the made one series.) Anyone else struck by these references, or am I seeing things that aren't there? Anyone got any actual information as to whether or not it's true? IMDB don't seem to have noticed these points, but I don't think they're co-incidental.

Hopefully better implemented than SWG and Matrix online.

Movie and television properties are difficult to translate in a way that the player feels like the most important character in the world as they usually aren't playing as the lead from the series or movie.

I don't know if they could bring it back now, not after Serenity. Serenity tied up too many loose ends that should rightfully have been left to dangle for another 2 or 3 series.

Anyone know what Joss Whedon is working on these days? After Buffy and Firefly, you'd think he'd have some other funky little TV series in development.

According to Wikipedia, as of last May he was working on a Wonder Woman film and a fantasy/horror film.
