Default Your own master?

I had watched a battle in which my prophet (Ryleh Starspawn) cast communication slave, then communication master. (There were no other mages on the battlefield.)
Since no communion is tangible (you dont see magic the icons underneath the portrait go up in number), I couldnt tell if this is working. In any case, bizarre.
So the question is: Can you be both master and slave, or more to the point: can you be your own master and slave? If so, the fatigue dispersal would interest me. If not, could some programmer please slap that AI for me?

This sort of odd (moronic) AI behavior is why I and others have (politely) suggested to IW that they implement some form of restricted-casting list, or preferably a checkbox per spell, to say whether the AI is permitted to use the spell in combat. Checkboxes would also alleviate the problem with the AI expending gems on spells that do not help you. You'd get to tell the AI which, if any, spells it's permitted to burn gems on.

I want to know what happens if 8 mages cast both communion master and slave.

Arryn is correct this definitely needs to be done. Spells like Summon Lammashatas come to mind... I've seen AI opponents have their mages die because of this spell.
