Richard, Malfador's site currently says "500+ components and facilities" which I believe is accurate. There are (by my count) 458 components and 122 facilities. You might see what Aaron has planned for the near future (maybe the 500+/300+ now listed by Shrapnel), but unless I've overlooked something (always possible), 580 is the current total. It's good to see a company interested in accurately representing what its games include.
