Nato Paint fade

Something that will interest a few of you as it does me
https://militaryphotoreport.blogspot...ntings-on.html NATO colors and a study paintings on military vehicles. https://forum.shrapnelgames.com/atta...1&d=1736468486 The top line is the original colour, the bottom is what it fades to and the light blue area in the middle is the equivalent game palette colour number for the original and the faded version The reason the game palette colours are so close is I have been adjusting the game palette over the past quarter+ century |
Re: Nato Paint fade
I found the aged French desert color interesting in that to my eyes it looks a shade or too darker unlike the rest that are lighter.
Possibly due to the dryer conditions and how oxidization is affecting it. Interesting. Regards, Pat :capt: |

Yes it does appear that some of the warmth of the colour has been lost and darkened slightly but far less of a change than the rest
Real original on top left, Real faded bottom left Game "original" palette conversion on top right, Game "weathered" palette conversion bottom right https://forum.shrapnelgames.com/atta...1&d=1736514428 |
Re: Nato Paint fade
I have developed something very similar to that but I didn't do a faded palette. Very interesting. Thank you for sharing Don. Well done!
