Red Dawn Series.

1 Attachment(s)
Hello,
Despite being a longtime SP fan, this is my first scenario posted(so go easy).
Inspired by the "Ambush at Vauxhall" scenario, I decided to do my own Red Dawn scenario in Canada. I had fun doing it and I hope you'll enjoy it.
Any comments and suggestions welcome.

No feedback whatsoever, so it's that good?

Haven't played it yet, but opened it up in the Editor and have read the description. It looks pretty promising, you've added a lot of interesting units on both sides. The one possible objection that I have so far is that the scenario might be a little on the short side, 27 turns isn't a lot when the snow reduces movement.

I also attached the scenario text with a few minor corrections ("fréquently" didn't show up like it should, and there was a "the the". Stuff like that).

Thanks, I had a bit of trouble with Notepad. I wanted to adjust the number of turns but could not decide how many.

I finally opened it up and it looks like a blast. I'm going to try to find some time to play it this weekend. Thanks for sharing.

Hey centurion, got around to playing this one from the Canadian side. The feel is a lot of fun with the old and/or non-standard equipment on both sides, really gives the feel of both sides scraping the bottom of the barrel. It was challenging until the reinforcements started to show up, after that it kind of turns into a rout. I imagine it is more challenging from the Russian side. Maybe decrease the amount of reinforcements that the Canadian get?

Glad you liked it :)
Maybe putting a bigger map and augmenting the Soviet side?....I will have to look into that.
As for the Ad hoc ORBAT, I found it realistic seeing as the majority of the CF was deployed to Germany and that during the Cold War the Germans had more Leopards at Shilo than we had in the whole Canadian Army!

Made my playthrough and scored a marginal.

Generally scenario is pretty OK, but I believe you should do a map yourself instead of generating one, I guess people will see you put more work into that and it will add additional climate.
I am no specialist on Canadian Military by that time, so I generally like the units I received, however I wonder if it would be possible for so multinational task force to operate properly, given language and equipment differences. Same goes for the Soviets - I switched sides and I can see there is no Soviet CoC at all, singular platoons are assigned under main Lieutenant Colonel command. This of course leads to force broken issues and rallying problems as well. Finally, noticeable amount of Sovs just won't budge and hold pos till the end of the scenario, what I presume shouldn't happen. Also, 0 value for flags makes that battle rather easy since attacker is not awarded for making progress.

Generally, I consider that scenario pretty OK and my time spent on it was not wasted, but I would tweak it further or carry on with another one as continuation.

It is possible & I only say possible giving the flags a value will at least cause the Soviets to reaction move if that was the original intent.

Oups! I totally forgot about the VH values....
As for language, having participated in a few multinational operations and exercises, yes language can be a problem but not a fatality.
