The Good, the Bad intermediates and the Ugly noobs // Team BAD (Bbz - Bullock) WIN !!
After several "classic" games i'd like to give a try to a team fight. Since we are lucky enough to get a lot of newcomers i think this type of game could allow some people to play together while they couldn't in any other type of game due to difference of level/xp between them.
I think also it's a best way for noobies to learn the game watching the good player (and maybe intermediate ^^)while still in a fun and fair game. So they would be 3 teams as the title suggest: 1 good player 2 Intermediates 4 noobs Which means at this point it is a 7 players games. However if the idea is meeting some success we can increase the number of players. (or make 2 teams of intermediate/noob/pro) Concerning the mods i'm planning to set CBM & prolly nothing more since it's a noob player friendly game. I'm also considering any suggestion about the rules that must be applied. I think it could be fair to forbid any Diplo between the intermediates & the good for example. Before giving some more accurate settings for the game (maps, ressources income...) i want to see how popular the idea is, so join first ! :) Any suggestion to improve the theme is appreciated. Re: The Good, the Bad intermediates and the Ugly noobs (Recruiting)
I would be interested to join!
Despite my postcount and join date I am still a noob. Got wiped soon in every game. About 3 played. Never came to forging or sweet magic. :) |
Re: The Good, the Bad intermediates and the Ugly noobs (Recruiting)
I'd be interested, but I'd love to play as EA Fomoria.Since I got some free time on my hands and I'd love to give those giants a try (And the newest CBM which you plan to use anyways:))
I also love team play so I really like the idea of a team game. I'd rate myself as a mixture of intermediate and noob, Ive had 4 games so far so you decide which one I am.:) Although i think it will be a bit unfair to have a game 2v1 or 4v1 even if the one is an expert vs 4 noobs the sheer numbers are overwhelming I think. What would be nice though is 8 players set in teams of 2. This way you can communicate and plan on strategies together and if we can get 4 intermediate players each to team up with a noob that would be nice and good learning experience. Also there can be interesting intra-team strategies. Thats the think if you team up 4 noobs together they wouldnt learn that much from eachother, while if you team up 1 noob and 1 intermediate/expert you can get a good play. or something like 1 noob + 1 expert vs 1 intermediate+ 1 intermediate player. That kindoff assignment would be good I think.(although I think that might change your theme quite a bit so I guess I am happy with the whole 1 v 2 v 4 thingy aswell if you want to go on with it:)) |
Re: The Good, the Bad intermediates and the Ugly noobs (Recruiting)
Well i'm listening every proposition concerning teams it may be a could idea Bbz depending on who's joining.
I will prolly make a poll to see which idea is the most popular between the propositions. Concerning the 1V4 i think it's doable for a good player. Prolly not in the early stage of the game that why i think i would set high Indies. Also the locations are random so the good is unlikely to face the 4 noobs at the same time. |
Re: The Good, the Bad intermediates and the Ugly noobs (Recruiting)
yea he's most likely going to be facing 1or two noob players but since there is not Diplo between intermediate and good player then he might still be attacked from every border he has. (say 2 intermediate bordering him and 2 noobs:) which is sort of worst case scenario)
The problem that I see in my suggestion is that we might have to forbid diplomacy at all if it is 2v2v2v2 game, coz then some people might get raped by 2 teams joining up on them. Also I dont think that the starting positions should be random, coz like that you can easily get 2 players from the same team starting at the nice corner together and 2 players from another team starting on the opposite sides of the map. I was more like looking at it as if you could place the teams together and they so they could arrange some attacks together or have an expansion plan together or something like that. But I dont know probably I'm getting into too much detail. |
Re: The Good, the Bad intermediates and the Ugly noobs (Recruiting)
Yeah i'm fine for any idea, it depends mostly of the people who join. And atm it doesn't seem so popular.

Re: The Good, the Bad intermediates and the Ugly noobs (Recruiting)
I'd be interested in playing (as a n00b) with one of the Niefelheim/Jotunheim (sp?) depending on whatever era it is. But I've never played with CBM before. From all accounts it is superior to Vanilla, but is there some log that lists all of the changes made between the two?

There is a PDF with the CBM crafting however. It should be in your CBM folder. |

Re: The Good, the Bad intermediates and the Ugly noobs (Recruiting)
should we jsut make it 2v2v2v2 intermediate + noob game, you can count me as intermediate(lets say) and host is one aswell and we have two new people wanting to play so thats 2 teams set up. we need 4 more 2 intermediate and 2 newish and then we can start thinking about positions and team splitting.
