Scouting, Spying and Scrying
 

I know what scouts are, but what are spies and how do they operate?

Also, what scrying spells are available? i can think of astral window- are there others?

What is the difference in information gained from these types of 'look-see' missions/spells?

EDIT and what about stealth units and glamoured units (within dominion of course)

Spies have two uses. First, they're better scouts. They give more accurate reports, including PD strength.
Second, they can cause unrest in enemy provinces. This is reported to the enemy, so it's risky, but can shutdown a crucial province at the right moment.

Astral Window & Astral Projection are the only two I know of. I believe these give the same level of info as a spy.

The relevant thing about glamour units is that they can't be seen on the overland map. Not in neighboring provinces or by scouts, spies or scrying. (I'm assuming on the scrying.)

Arco gets scrying in dominion as well. There are also sites that cast the scrying spells, as well as stone sphere, but those basically just cast astral window for you, it's not a different mechanic.

Do spies give better unit scouting reports for sure, or is that just an assumption? I know they unlock a bunch of extra info, but I'm not sure if the army estimate is improved or not.

Spies and scrying can also see inside forts that you are sieging, which is helpful.

EA Agartha and I think LA Arco have capital sites that a mage can enter to scry as well.

I'm not at all convinced that spies give better troop estimates, though they give info on PD, existing sites etc.
