The Ark Broken by Converting Game to 3.08?
 

I've got a game running under 3.08, which I started under 3.06. I could swear that I saw battles using the ark under 3.06 where I saw the graphic effects associated with the ark take place, but now with a couple of battles under 3.08, and I can't tell if anything is occurring. I also see no increase in afflictions or damage (and this was quite noticeable under 3.06). The marker for battle spell for the Ark is still visible during playback.

I'm wondering i it is it possible/likely that switching my game to 3.08 has broken the combat effects of the Ark? Has anyone else out there seen this happening? If so, is it likely that destroying the artifact and re-forging it would give me a fully operational ark, again?

The ark definitely has an impact on battle. I don't see the little explosions of red or anything, but I did skim through some enemy troops, and a number of them were blind/diseased(including some commanders lurking in back)

Yeah, i am playing with an ark toting thug in a SP game. It still works. Not as much as I would like, but I do see unit die from the ark as well as disease and blindness.

A couple questions about the ark in general, as I haven�t really played around with it but I�ve just forged it in a MP game. Your pretender is not immune, because he�s not sacred, right? What�s a good non-nation-specific holy sc/thug to stick it on? Would it be a reasonable idea to stick it on a golem with trampling boots (ie I don�t really care if he�s blind and diseased). The shroud of the saint doesn�t protect you from it, does it?

I put the ark on an angel of fury, kitted out, You probobly don't have access without a wish.

I think it kills pretenders, yes, but i have never tried.

Becareful of the Golem idea, The ark sometimes kills unit outright. Might happen to the golem.

Blessed != Sacred. Neither pretenders, nor non-sacred commanders wearing shrouds are safe.
