Looking for sample Construction_Facilities.txt file.

Hi folks,
I'm having a bit of difficulty creating a
new colony type and having the AI minister
build it. I'm trying to create a "standard"
multi-resource colony type, but so far, they
all seem to be built using the "homeworld"
template.

If any of you happen to have a modified
Facilities.txt with a new colony type, and
would be so kind as to post, it would be
muchly appreciated.

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe that the colony types the AI will recognize are hard coded in. One possiblity to get around this is take one of the less used colony types, and try modding it to build different resource extractors.

Ok just took a look at the Default_planet_type.txt file and it looks like I those colony types are hard coded. Anyhow, you could take say the construction yard and have it act as a multi-resource colony. Just be sure you alter the criteria in selecting what planets the AI will then choose to be that colony type. The other thing is, I haven't been able to find a way to get the AI to build monoliths, so you will probably have to settle for have a few of each resource extractor type [/edit]

jc173, at the moment the only way I see to make the AI build monoliths would be by increasing their resource output above the single resource producing facilities. The AI will always chose the facility with the highest output in one specific area.
But as the AI does not use resource conVersion (at least in my experience), I think the effect of this modification would give the human player more advantage! That's one reason why I didn't change it in my games.
