Need some help please
 

Ok, I'm starting my first PBW game ever, and I've downloaded the game and am trying to take my turn, but as soon as I log in it tells me, "The data files currently being used do not match the data files that were used when this game was started. Please check with your host to get the correct data files."

That is word for word what it says. I've got the correct version of the mod and game, I even redownloaded the mod after the first atempt,and I'm positive nothing else has been changed. I've already emailed the game host, but my turn is due today. Short of reinstalling everything, is there anything else I can do?

First off don't worry about it. It happens a lot. Secondly, all you need are the data files that your host used to make the game. He will most likely email those to you if you ask.

What mod are you using? What is the name of your PBW game? And have you updated to 1.91 SEIV Gold?

Also, there might be a problem with your EMP file if your version of the mod is way out dated compared to the hosts. So you might want to verify that your EMP is ok once you do get the correct data files from the host.

Now is the time to restart the game if needed.

If this is the pirates game, then you need to look at the PBW forum for the game (click on the globe button) and you'll see a thread with the proper link to the mod.

Alternatively, you can go to the pbw mods database and look for the mod called Pirates & Nomads syndicate wars or something like that.

I got it straightened out, thanks for helping.

Yeah, it's the pirates game. I was rushing through this morning trying to hurry and go to bed since I have to be back to work here(like in 45 mins), so I didn't catch the email about the change of mod being used. Got the right mod now though, and I've sent my turn in. Although I wasn't sure I'd get it in on time.
