I'm keen. I'd like to play a mod nation (subject of course to everyone's approval) - I gather from the OP that this is OK. I will ponder the options and get back to you soon :-)

Re: Blood and Booze - EA - Recruiting

guess I'll claim Neifelhiem for now. May pick another after a test game or two. Looks like the game is filling up.

Re: Blood and Booze - EA - Recruiting

Wow ! Glad the game is filling so fast !
Sounds like it s going to be a rough game ;)

@Jimbo: Yeah nation mods are welcomed if balanced. I might take one also.

@Admiral: I'm planning to launch it on Llama's.

@ossa: Don't miss the starting bell this time ;)

@all: Should i put a :skull: in front of Executor & GFSnl names so everybody knows where the danger come from ? :)

Anyway welcome in everybody !

Reserve a slot for me. Need to think more about nation/strategy for such weired game settings.

Tir na n'Og please.

Re: Blood and Booze - EA - Recruiting

I'm going to give Alugra, the City of Wonders, a spin. It looks totally weird, so this might end very badly for me, but at least it should be fun.

There is an MC file for Alugra (named "City of Wonders"), so it is basically good to plug into a 1.92 game as-is.

So are we going to be creating a single "master mod" file for this game? Its worth doing IMO (avoids a lot of confusion), and I am willing to help make it if you want once we know what mod nations are in the game.

Taking an EA Ulm after some thoughts.

Hard to tell, after a quick look, if it's a balanced nation or not considering how odd this nation is.

If nobody argue against this choice i'm fine with it.

dojango January 2nd, 2012 11:08 AM

Re: Blood and Booze - EA - Recruiting

If you're going to play a mod nation, can you provide a link to them, so we can take a look at the nation's strengths and weaknesses? Uh, purely for science's sake.

Are we going to use an All Age Mod?

Cause as it stands now both Niefelheim and Jotunheim are in the game.

Don't know if All Age Mod works very well with custom mod nations.

Bullock January 2nd, 2012 02:23 PM

Re: Blood and Booze - EA - Recruiting

It's an EA only game.
Please check your nation and if it isn't a EA one pick something else.

That was my bad. Wasn't thinking, put Jotunheim in instead of Niefelheim. I guess I can play a different one since someone else picked it.

Cheers,

Sounds like a powerful nation: Good troopers/cavalry/archers & versatile cap mages.
But if nobody is against this pick i'm fine with it.

mockingbird January 2nd, 2012 05:36 PM

Re: Blood and Booze - EA - Recruiting

I'm not all that interested in playing with mod nations that I'm not familiar enough with to know whether they are balanced or not.

I should perhaps withdraw from the game.

Bullock January 2nd, 2012 05:39 PM

Re: Blood and Booze - EA - Recruiting

Well after some thoughts i think i won't allow nations mods on such a big game while we don't know how balanced they will be in late game. I'm saying that, because i just realized that the Alugra's mages will have a very low upkeep with this odd mechanics.
And I also have some doubts about the Atreus balancing.

I'm sorry for both players who picked a nation mod, and hope they will join us with one of the original nations. I will prolly make another game, smaller, dedicated to nation mods in a few weeks to give it a try.

In the interests of science (or, in this case, super science!) here is a description and then a link to the mod itself:

Name: Alugra, City of Wonders
Author: Burnsaber
Desc: Alugra is a human town built upon a huge underworld nexus of magical leylines. For ages, pure and undiluted magic has been seeping from the very soil of Alugra. Some lucky inviduals are affected by the magic and turn into 'gifted', superhumans with inhuman speed, resilience, strength and strange magical abilities. Once people in Alugra started to get magical powers, people started to move in Alugra, hoping to become something more than a meek human. The huge increase of population in short time has made the city into a hive of criminals, who have already managed to expand their power outside the magical city. Some of the gifted want to enslave these ungifted cattle while others want to protect them from the latter. This dance of Heroes and Villains has been going on for centuries, but now Alugra is united for the cause of the one true awakening god.

If we decide against Mod nations, I'll take Kailasa. Monkeys for the win!

Edit: Looks we have made that decision. I'll take the monkeys for a spin, in that case.

Ok great !
i'm updating OP for the giants, abysia & monkeys.

Dooley need to pick a new nation.
We also need another sea nation.
Few more players would be perfect to start this game. (20 players would be very nice)

Re: Blood and Booze - EA - Recruiting 19/20

19players!
A 2nd water nation sounds mandatory to me. (we can still have one or 2 lands nation though)
Anyone for Atlantis or Oceania?

Reminder : The game is up to receive pretenders.

Admiral_Aorta January 4th, 2012 05:53 AM

Re: Blood and Booze - EA - Recruiting 19/20

I think I'll hold off submitting a god until another water nation enters, I may need to tweak my strategy depending on which nation gets chosen.

welltimat January 4th, 2012 06:05 AM

Re: Blood and Booze - EA - Recruiting 19/20

BTW. 19 nations for Cradle means some nations will be just 2 provinces away.

Bullock January 4th, 2012 06:16 AM

Re: Blood and Booze - EA - Recruiting 19/20

If we have 20 lands nations + 2 water, everybody has an average of 10 prov to expand. That also mean everybody will have a neighbor at 2 or 3 prov away and, in that sense, it make the game fairer than for smaller games without fixed start. However i m maybe overestimating the random starter AI.

@Admiral: do you mind picking a land nation if we don't find an other water nation player ? If so, maybe reserve one of the few remaining land nations.

Scaramuccia January 4th, 2012 08:02 AM

Re: Blood and Booze - EA - Recruiting 19/20

Reserve a water slot for me instead of Ulm - I still in doubt Atlantis or Oceania will decide in 1-2 hours.

Scaramuccia January 4th, 2012 08:29 AM

Re: Blood and Booze - EA - Recruiting 19/20

Reread some Lovecraft today. So Atlantis will be my choice toady.
