Turkey
2 Attachment(s)
In honor of thanksgiving, i wanted to make a map for a thanksgiving blitz. So i made one of Turkey. The image was taken from Google Earth, with it showing the provinces borders.
All names have been set to the proper province names, as listed in wikipedia. Terrain types have not been set, nor have population values been set to correspond in any way. The map is 81 provinces, all land. Current v is 1.00 i guess, as this is first release, but it's possible i made a mistake on borders, and there's a few that are tough calls. Zlefin :) edit: added thumbnail. edit2: made more provinces #nostart. |
Re: Turkey
That's great!
I hope everyone had a happy thanks-giving, by the way. |

Here's an NI version of the dm.
Happy thanksgiving jerkfaces. |
Re: Turkey
Just to be sure... is this turkey as in avian food source, or Turkey as in a country?
|
Re: Turkey
I wondered also. Turkey the contry might take offense.
But using the picture of a turkey (animal) would be interesting. Ive always said that any picture could work (personally I want to play on a map of Marilyn Monroe) |

But then one person could hog all the mountains, and whoever starts in the Jungle of Love is going to expand awfully quickly..... |

Re: Turkey
Well when I was in Turkey the muslim turks didnt much like jokes about the countries name. After all, its not named after a fat stupid dodo-looking bird (their words, not mine). Luckily they are our allies so might not mind reference to the American holiday.
But as a map its pretty cool. I apprecaite its addition. |
Re: Turkey
could you edit a thumbnail image into the OP? I'm at work and I'd like to see what it looks like.

Re: Turkey
The turkey is a noble and useful animal that might well have become our National symbol, supplanting the bald eagle, which was suggested and promoted by noone less than Benjamin Franklin. Admittedly, it may not share the bald eagle's regal appearance, but certainly the turkey is a *native* American, unlike the bald eagle, and it's a survivor, whereas the bald eagle is an endangered species.
It's also delicious! |
Re: Turkey
The Bald Eagle is also largely a carrion eater, steals kills from hawks, flees most combats. The turkey is braver and more honest.
Ben Franklin also recommended the Rattlesnake. |
