Corpses?

What do you see under "Suply usage:190"?
Yup. Corpses. Someone please explain?

Re: Corpses?

If that's the usage, where is the "supply" tracked?

Can I run out of bodies? Yuck.

Also, it is noteworthy that it seems you'll need a Death mage in the province in order to have "Corpses" shown in toolbar. The Ulm shot doesn't have Corpses marked in the toolbar, while Jotunheim(with a Seithkonur(sp?) in the province) has...

Some of the death spells need unburied corpses to work, so that number shows how many corpses are there. They appear after battle, some disaster (random event), pillage or as a result of destructive dominion and will disappear slowly.

There's also a nifty spell called Feast of Ravens. It summons an unkindness of ravens to go and consume all the unburied corpses in a provinces, and then return to be slaughtered for the concentrated Death energy they'll then be filled with.

That not only denies necromancers from being able to raise many kinds of undead in that province, but it also gives you a good fistful of Death gems. Heh-heh! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Yet another, small nice, nifty feature by IW.

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">it reminds me of Magic the Gathering (played it 3 years or so). You would have recycling cards which converted one resource into another, like removing your graveyard from game to gain more mana.
Basically the spell does this http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

This remind me of MoM too. Why? Because many of the spells of MoM were copied on cards of MtG. Like mana short for example. I feel more and more near MoM with Dominions http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

So, say I've got a necromancer in a province with unburied corpses. Goody... now, do I need to build a lab before I can Frankenstein them, or is there some other trick? Do they just do it in their spare time, any time they are in a province with dead meat?

You really need to dabble more in the necromantic arts, PvK. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif Yes, you will need a lab to cast the necessary spells - provided that you don't somehow have access to Unholy priests, I assume.

Re: Corpses?

there is two instances that I know off where you dont need a lab : unholy priests, and battlefield summon (the soulless Version) which need corpses.

Re: Corpses?

My impression is that soulless have so utterly low stats (and come with afflictions mostly) that you are better off raising longdeads anyway. Corpses/soulless are only useful for unholy priests because they can raise a lot of them in one turn if the corpses are plentiful, whereas they can only reanimate a few skeletons at the same time. If you are to cast a reanimation spell as a non-unholy nation, which costs gems, you should stick with the skeleton-raising ones. Soulless are only a quick fix to replenish the numbers of unholy armies after a battle, and they might add to some spells that raise longdeads, IIRC, but it's something that shouldn't be a big loss to not be able to use.
