Dominions 3 Digital Download or Physical Copy?
 

Hi,

I just learnt about Dominions 3's existence and now I really want to buy it. Usually I go for the digital download because I'm quite lazy, but I read that with the physical copy comes a 300-page manual: this quite excites me.

I'm quite against boxed games because I think it's not the future of pc gaming, it's a waste of space... but the manual entices me! :)

like i said. i'm not 100% sure (i got the game before the download was available) check with shrapnel before you go off of my word

On the other hand, everything has its pros and cons....

For ME a pdf manual isnt a problem. But a 300 page pdf isnt a small load. Its not a problem for me because I have two monitors fed by 4 servers sitting in front of me so having the game on one screen and the manual on another is workable. But I know some people play Dom3 because its friendly to older not-very-powerful machines or laptops. Im not sure if running the game and the manual at the same time is always an option.

The physical manual is spiral bound which I consider one of the great things they did. It lays flat on my desk while Im playing. And it reads in the bathroom or on the bus easier for people who dont have a portable that can easily handle a 300 page pdf.

ALSO worth noting is that the CD comes with all 3 versions of the game (windows, linux, mac). IF you are in the US or any country without extensive customs charges then the game tends to arrive in a couple days. Since there is no cost difference I would tend to recommend the full version.

Is there a way to get the PDF manual without buying another copy? A searchable manual would be nice.

Someone got banned before for anwering that question. I bet it's not hard to find.

Digital download price is a bit lame, so if you can get it from amazon.com for like $45-50 it's worth having the printed outdated manual :)

I was, of course, asking for a legitimate way. I've got the printed one, pages torn and stains and all. I was thinking Shrapnel could offer the PDF free (or cheap) to existing customers. I'm sure I'm in their database somewhere.
