Nope - back in the good old DOS days, V 2.0 as far as I can recollect, along with the in-game help section (? key), where all these hot keys are listed. So they have been there (and listed in the in-game help and the GG) since 1999 or 2000-ish.

Ahhhhhh.......no Andy. This was put in just after 3.5 was released when we first started working on the v4.5 MBT patch. I just double checked with a copy of WW2 3.5 and the hex grid will not turn on and off pressing the <. period > key. Neither will a v1.0 exe

The problem is this was put in right after v3.5 was released and before the last MBT release ( January 24/ 09 to be exact ) so for us this is akin to ancient history. It's been active for so long ( one MBT patch and now one WW2 patch ) that it just seems like it's been there forever . What Andy's remembering are changes we made to the Map editor ages ago.

Probably the map editor or suchlike then since I vaguely recall switching off hexes before I moved house, ie before 2005.

But then I just set the hexes on and leave them alone, myself.
